Chapter 38 - The Shattered Leash

Sophia reached down with her left hand, grabbing the titanium chain around Castlereagh’s neck, and violently ripped it free from his collar.
"No!" Castlereagh shrieked. "You cannot activate the audit! You need the Council's consent!"
"We *are* the Council," Lauren stated coldly.
Sophia pressed the golden Falcon seal onto the marble table. She drew the ceramic blade I had given her earlier and sliced the flesh of her own palm. Without hesitating, Lauren stepped forward, cutting her own hand and letting her blood mingle with Sophia’s.
I reached out last. I pressed my bleeding palm directly onto theirs, letting the dark crimson stream flow into the intricate grooves of the imperial falcon seal.
The ancient relic hissed. A deep, resonant chime echoed through the ballroom sound system as the digital ledger embedded in the seal’s micro-core registered the triple genetic sequence.
Across the giant display screens mounted above the ballroom, the words flashed in bright, unyielding white:
**TRINITY PROTOCOL ACTIVATED.**
**CHANCELLOR JONATHAN CASTLEREAGH: STRIPPED OF SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY.**
**ALL ASSETS OF THE SAINT-GERMAIN TRUST: REVERTED TO THE MERCER LINEAGE.**
Castlereagh let out a guttural scream of absolute defeat, collapsing flat against the cold marble as the security teams—now receiving updated authority protocols on their tactical visors—lowered their weapons.
The enforcers did not fire on us.
Their commander stepped forward, unclipped his radio, and saluted Sophia. "Orders, Lady Mercer?"

Sophia stood tall, her chest heaving, the blood dripping from her hand onto the golden seal. She looked at Lauren, then at me. For the first time in thirty-two years, the shadow of fear was completely gone from her eyes.
"Arrest Jonathan Castlereagh," Sophia ordered, her voice cutting through the silence of the stunned ballroom like a blade. "Hand him over to the federal authorities alongside every ledger in his private safe. Let the world see what lies beneath the gilded cage."
