Chapter 4 - The Unraveling Web

Jasmine turned deathly white. "I... I don't know what you're talking about! Aaron gave me that contract!"
"Aaron didn't have the authority to give you a napkin, let alone royalty rights owned by my sister," Marcus replied coldly.
Aaron grabbed the edge of the table, his knuckles turning white. "Marcus, please... put Alyssa on the phone! Let me talk to my wife!"
"She is no longer your wife, Aaron," Marcus said, pulling a red folder from his briefcase and sliding it across the table. "These are divorce papers. She has already signed them. You have twenty-four hours to sign, surrender all claims to Aegis Holdings assets, and forfeit your executive stock options."
"And if I refuse?" Aaron snarled, his former arrogance desperately resurfacing. "I’m the face of Prescott Tech! The board supports me! The public loves me! If Alyssa attacks me, the stock will crash to zero, and she’ll lose her $1.5 billion investment!"
Marcus smiled. It was a terrifying, pitiless smile.
"You really don't understand who my sister is, do you?" Marcus asked softly. "Alyssa didn't invest $1.5 billion in Prescott Tech because she cared about your company, Aaron. She invested it because she loved you. But now that you've proven yourself worthless... she doesn't care if Prescott Tech burns to the ground tonight."
The conference room doors opened once more.
Daniel, the CFO, walked in carrying a tablet. He looked at Aaron with absolute coldness.
"Aaron," Daniel announced calmly. "The board of directors has just held an emergency vote over Zoom. Fifty-one percent of the voting shares—controlled by Aegis Holdings—have officially voted to terminate you as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately."
"You betrayed me?!" Aaron screamed at Daniel, charging toward him.

Two Vance Global security officers stepped into the room, blocking Aaron’s path and forcing him back against the window.
"Security will escort you, your mother, and Miss Jasmine out of the building," Daniel said. "Your personal items will be shipped to your private residence. You are no longer permitted on company property."
