Chapter 3 - The Boardroom Panic

By 3:00 PM, news of Aaron Prescott being forcefully removed from a private jet at JFK Airport had leaked to financial news blogs.

Stock in Prescott Technologies plummeted by eleven percent in afternoon trading.

Inside the glass-walled executive conference room on the 50th floor of the Prescott Tower, Aaron was pacing furiously, sweat soaking through his linen dress shirt. His mother sat in the corner, nervously drinking tea, while Jasmine stood by the door, completely ignored.

"Where is Daniel?!" Aaron roared, slamming his fists onto the mahogany table. "Where is the legal team?! Why hasn't Aegis Holdings answered my calls?!"

The double glass doors swung open.

It wasn't Daniel who walked in. It was a team of ten high-powered corporate litigators dressed in sharp charcoal suits, led by Marcus Vance—my elder brother and the Chief Legal Officer of Vance Global.

Aaron straightened his posture, trying to maintain his billionaire persona. "Who are you? You can't just barge into my corporate headquarters!"

Marcus didn't even look at him. He motioned to his team, who immediately began placing stacks of legal notices in front of every chair at the table.

"Mr. Prescott," Marcus said, his voice flat and lethal. "I am Marcus Vance. I am here on behalf of my sister, Alyssa Vance, and Aegis Holdings."

Aaron swallowed hard. "Marcus... look, there's been a massive misunderstanding between Alyssa and me. It’s just a marital dispute! She’s overreacting because of a seat assignment on the plane!"

Marcus stopped, looked at Aaron, and slowly raised an eyebrow.

"A marital dispute?" Marcus chuckled darkly. "Mr. Prescott, two hours ago, Aegis Holdings formally filed a notice of default on your corporate headquarters lease. You have two hours to vacate this building."

"What?!" Eleanor shrieked, jumping up from her chair. "You can't kick us out! Aaron built this company!"

"He built nothing," Marcus countered coldly. "Furthermore, my sister has officially revoked the exclusive software license for the thirteen core patents used in your flagship server network. As of 4:00 PM today, Prescott Tech no longer has legal authorization to run its primary software."

Aaron’s heart stopped. "She... she revoked the patents? That’s illegal! The contract states I have an exclusive ten-year license!"

"Clause 14B of the patent licensing agreement," Marcus quoted from memory, "states that if the CEO of Prescott Tech engages in acts of financial fraud, asset diversion, or unauthorized transfer of equity to third parties, the license is terminated instantly without notice."

Marcus turned his head and looked directly at Jasmine.

"Acts like transferring ten percent of patent royalties to a secretary's offshore account in the Cayman Islands."
