Chapter 10 - A Life Built on Truth

One year later.

The sun shone brightly over a private coastal estate in the Hamptons. The ocean breeze blew gently across a magnificent garden filled with white roses and hydrangeas.

Music played softly as guests gathered under a white silk canopy.

I stood in front of a full-length mirror inside the bride’s suite, wearing a breathtaking custom lace wedding dress that flowed gracefully around me. My mother was fixing my veil, tears of joy sparkling in her eyes.

“You are so beautiful, my sweet girl,” Mom whispered, kissing my cheek.

Dad walked into the room, looking sharp in his tuxedo. He looked at me, his eyes filled with immense pride.

“Ready, sweetheart?” Dad asked, offering me his arm.

“More than ready, Dad,” I smiled, taking his arm securely.

As the wedding march began, the glass doors opened, and I walked down the aisle lined with our true friends, family, and loved ones.

At the end of the aisle stood Gabriel. He looked dashing, his eyes completely locked on mine, tears glistening on his lashes as he watched me approach. There was no pretense in his eyes—only deep, unconditional love, profound respect, and an eager promise of a shared future.

When Dad placed my hand in Gabriel’s, he squeezed Gabriel’s shoulder. “Take care of my daughter.”

“With my life, sir,” Gabriel said earnestly.

The ceremony was intimate, genuine, and filled with laughter and heartfelt vows.

“Elena,” Gabriel said, taking both my hands in his as we stood before the officiant. “I don’t promise you a life free of challenges. But I promise that in every decision, every trial, and every triumph, we stand as equal partners. Your dreams are my priority, your family is my family, and your heart is my home.”

Tears of pure happiness welled in my eyes as I slipped a simple platinum band onto his finger.

“I pronounce you husband and wife!” the officiant announced.

Gabriel pulled me into a deep, tender kiss as our guests erupted into joyful applause and cheers.

Later that evening, as the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean, burning in brilliant shades of gold, orange, and purple, Gabriel and I stood on the wooden balcony overlooking the sea, holding glasses of champagne.

He wrapped his arm around my waist, resting his chin gently on my head. “What are you thinking about, Mrs. Vance?” he asked softly.

I leaned back against his warm chest, taking a deep breath of the fresh ocean air, feeling an overwhelming sense of joy, completeness, and peace.

“I’m thinking about how every storm eventually clears the path for the life we were always meant to live,” I smiled, raising my glass to the horizon. “To truth, to self-respect, and to us.”

“To us,” Gabriel whispered, kissing my temple as the golden light enveloped us, marking the beginning of a life built on real love, mutual honor, and unbreakable strength.
