Chapter 10 - The Sun Rises Forever

The autumn sun set over the rolling hills of our estate, casting deep shades of violet, gold, and crimson across the open lawn.
Over two hundred guests—our closest friends, corporate partners, factory directors, and medical research staff—sat under a massive white silk pavilion decorated with warm fairy lights and white roses.
A string quartet played a soft, beautiful rendition of A Thousand Years.
I walked down the white carpeted aisle on the arm of Harold Finch.
I wore a breathtaking lace wedding gown that flowed gently around me as I walked. My dark hair was styled with delicate pearl pins. I held a bouquet of white peonies and eucalyptus.
At the end of the aisle stood Julian, looking sharp in a black tuxedo, tears of pure, unadulterated joy shining in his hazel eyes as he watched me approach.
Standing beside him as our flower girl was six-year-old Maya, wearing a matching white dress with a pink ribbon around her waist, scattering rose petals onto the carpet with a huge, radiant smile.
When I reached the altar, Harold gently placed my hand into Julian's.
"Take care of her, son," Harold whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
"With my life, Harold," Julian promised quietly.
Julian looked into my eyes, his warm hands holding mine tightly.
"Olivia," Julian spoke his vows, his voice clear and resonant across the quiet garden. "When I met you, I saw a woman of extraordinary strength, remarkable grace, and boundless love. You rebuilt your world from the ground up, and you raised an incredible daughter. I promise to stand by you as your partner, your champion, and your best friend for all the days of my life."
I looked into Julian’s eyes, feeling an overwhelming wave of peace and absolute certainty.
"Julian," I spoke my vows, my voice steady and glowing with joy. "You showed me that real love doesn't demand sacrifice of one's dignity. You loved my daughter as your own, and you gave me a safe place to rest my heart. I give you my love, my trust, and my promise to build a bright, beautiful future together forever."
"By the power vested in me," the minister announced warmly, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. Julian, you may kiss your bride!"
Julian pulled me into his arms, dipping me slightly as he pressed a deep, passionate, joyful kiss against my lips.
The entire pavilion erupted into thunderous, ecstatic cheers and applause.
Maya ran over, throwing her small arms around both of our legs, giggling happily.
Julian lifted Maya into his left arm while keeping his right arm wrapped securely around my waist.
Together, the three of us turned toward our guests, stepping into the golden evening sunlight as husband, wife, and daughter.
I looked up at the endless blue sky above us.
Four years ago, I thought my life had ended on the cold floor of a courthouse. I thought my pregnant body was a burden, my future was dark, and my worth was destroyed.
Today, standing in the arms of a man who adored me, holding the healthy daughter I had fought for, running an empire that protected thousands of families, I realized the truth.

The divorce wasn't the end of my story.
It was simply the moment I stopped underestimating my own strength—and started living the life I was always meant to possess.
